Required Posters for Virginia Employers
Take a moment to review a few of the required posters you must have properly displayed in your workplace as a Virginia employer.
Notice to Workers (VEC-B-29)
This poster is based on the Virginia Unemployment Compensation Act (UC). All employers who fall under VA unemployment compensation laws must have it posted. This poster gives employees the necessary information for if and when they are eligible for unemployment insurance benefits along with the application process.
Job Safety and Health Protection
This poster covers the Virginia Occupational Safety and Health Act (VOSH). It details employees’ rights and responsibilities under OSHA law. All employers must have this posted in the workplace. If it is not posted, employers are subject to a citation and/or fine. It must be displayed in a 11” x 17” format.
Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC) IRS publication 4194
Under the Virginia Department of Social Services (VDSS), this poster informs low to middle class workers and families of the federal earned income tax credit and state low income credit. All employers must display this.
Workers’ Compensation Notice (VWC 1)
In compliance with Virginia Workers’ Compensation (VWC), this poster explains the rights and responsibilities of both employees and employers in the event of injury or occupational disease. Every employer with three or more employees must have this posted in the workplace.
